V8 Engine Model that Works
For contents of list above - I guess I missed out on some goodies.
Still assembling my skid and control station for engine. Haven’t run engine yet. Overall at this point I’m very happy with product and other options purchased. Very high quality and service team are very helpful.
Thank you Lucas for all your patience and help.
I ordered the ENJOMOR V8 with starter kit from Enginediy on the 25th July 2023 and after a well communicated emails regarding delivery dates , thanks Lucas, received the engine on the 26th September 2023. It arrived quickly with a tracking number and was exceptionally well packed both externally and internally of the nice wooden box which included the starter kit accessories and a spare hall sensor and coolant tube.
I am still waiting for the factory base and exhaust, extractors here in Aust headers in USA, to come and hope to get them soon as I am look at starting the engine. I can totally recommend Enginediy and expect to deal with them more in the future.
The engine looks great and is a little jewel appearing to be well made Looking at YouTube videos I have ordered some hall sensors and cables as spares as well as some O rings for the water pump, appear to be easily and cheaply available from various local suppliers without shipping delays, which I dissembled to measure the bearings which I intend to replace with bronze bushes or full ceramic bearings along with the shafts if they are normal steel.
I think this part and probably a few more need more thinking and refinement but which engines including even very big industrial engines doesn't.
I will measure the exhaust ports and exhaust lengths as well as the cam timing when the extractors get here and run some rough numbers to see how the new exhausts shape up or if I will design and build my own from tube. After I get the engine running and am acquainted with it, I think some improvements need to be made to the distributor, for reliability and allow timing to be tuned as well as possible advance and retard which currently seems a bit basic, but I will reserve my opinion at this stage. It may well benefit from a full electronic ignition and fuel system that is tunable by laptop depending on what people want to do with the engine and have looked into it preliminary, do able but will need a bit of work I currently conclude.
I would like to look at a supercharger, just for the sake of it, and think turbo's would not work so well because the size and performance may not scale well on this size engine but will work on that and CAD a few things out after crunching and doing some numbers. At some stage after running I will pull the engine fully down for measurement and inspection of all the parts but at this stage I think it is a great little engine well built and reasonably priced something I have wanted for a long time and considerably better than many other offerings by competitors due to it's design, features, quality, hopefully reliability and reasonable price.
Does need more development, which I'm sure will be ongoing, but good.
The Operation Manual which comes in the box and is available on line is a bit basic and needs more work and detail and this needs to be addressed as in my opinion it misses important details on the setting up and powering up of the engine, both for starting and running system, power supply needed and general wiring and switches, torque values for screws and bolts especially obviously engine critical ones like heads, as well as a sequence, or crank and connecting rods but I can work that out and hopefully we will see upgrades to the manual in time, but in any case I will do my own which I may share with less technical owners. There is always problem in translating manuals or even terminology from one country to another and this needs to be kept in mind and hopeful refined.
I attach some pictures of my engine and the box it came in and would recommend it even as a very nice display or conversation piece, but much better ready to run as needed. Now let us see what the Enginmor V12 finally looks like and what the price is, exhaust doesn't look right but sounds good so I will be keen to find out and see more.
Hope this initial review helps people who are thinking of or have this engine and I will try and post more comments if they are helpful.
Thanks again to Enginediy.

Eddy
