Absolutely Amazed‼️

I took out of the box, oiled and lubed, installed batteries, put a little fuel in, ran thru cycles as recommended, turned on switch, started right up‼️

Amazing model, correct proportions, sounds wonderful.

Thank you for a great product.

One eye laughing and one eye crying!

Very beautyful engine! First run smooth and no problems. But after some minutes appearing air bubbles in the watertank! Stopped the engine, turned the flywheel by hand slowly, water running out off the carburator and the exhaust valve, cylinder disassembled, metal cylinder beneath falls out off the brass cylinder, the 5 O-rings have the same height as the metal, no fine overheight to seal! If the piston is moving forward to TDC the compressed air blows between metal and brass cylinder through the holes for the sparkplug and the airintake in the water box and the water is pressed in the watertank! Also the piston is moving to BTDC water is sucked in the metal cylinder! I am solving today the problem with silicone paste and hope to finish the problem! But I ordered from a big France online-shop enough a little bit oversized O-rings! I like this engine!!!

Detailed recreation in beautiful brass

The R18 is a beautiful recreation of a historic piece of engine development. It is well made and demonstrates a lot of historical engine features in well made brass parts. It runs nicely and will make an eye catching addition to your collection.

Benzmotor R18

Gefährt an.
vom enginediy service-team geholfen.

R18 Carl Benz engine from 1885

A great engine, very detailed replica of the Carl Benz engine.
A beautiful collector's item.
With a little fine tuning, the engine runs superbly.
