Yes. The CISON OHV V8-44 PRO is still a kit version, so part of the experience is assembling, setting up, and learning the engine as you build it. The upgrade does not remove the hands-on character of the engine; it improves the parts that affect durability, tuning, lubrication, and running stability.
The base kit includes the engine parts, accessories, instruction manual, and a complimentary CDI ignition system. It does not include water-cooling components, spark plug, fuel tank, fuel tubing, or engine base. If you plan to run the engine instead of keeping it as a build or display project, these support parts need to be prepared separately.
The CISON V8-OHV-44 PRO uses 92# gasoline or higher. For lubrication, the product information recommends 4T engine oil, with 10W50 engine oil / 25 ml listed as the reference. Because this OHV V8 uses an independent lubrication system, it should not be treated like a simple 2-stroke premix engine.
Yes, the upgrades are useful for RC planning because they improve areas that affect repeated running: bearing control, carburetor movement, oil control, ignition timing, and piston wear. You still need to plan cooling, fuel supply, mounting, throttle linkage, and the rest of the drivetrain carefully, but the upgraded engine gives you a more stable base to work from.
The main difference is that the engine should feel more settled after repeated starts and tuning. The bearing position is better controlled, the carburetor movement feels smoother, the spark plug is less likely to become an early weak point, and oil control should be cleaner during running.
Though it took 37 days mostly due to USA customs and a fierce snow storm , it was worth the wait.
The Cison 44cc V8 is a masterpiece and it will surely be my RC Model collection centerpiece.

Not Perfect but Close
I am pleased to see that you have taken the time to look for customer imput. I am taking my time to complete the engine and have enjoyed the experience, so far. My biggest negative, and I know that you have heard this before, are the instructions. I think a lot of people would attempt building the engine with better information available. I know with my engineering experience I will overcome any issues that may arise. My only other negative is a missing threaded rod for the oil filter. The rating I would give it is a 4 1/2 but it was not available.

Great engine but some details could be improved
This engine is absolutely beautiful and fantastic.
The machning is really good.
Some details could be improved :
Mounting instruction.
The section about the oil and water line is really poor.
The piston rings orientation could be also more clearer and also on the rods you have a small lubrification hole.
Take care to put in in the center of the engine (to get oil from camshaft)
2 threads in the oil pan is not in the good size (M2 instead of 2.5)
The head gasket is also not perfect. Had to cut a little bit the hole where pushrods get through (most of them are touching the gasket and the valves doesn't close easily)
In the cylinder heads, they should add a lillte machining under the 4 long screws because the surface is not parallel of the bottom of the screw and they are note sitting properrly
And for the complete set with water cooling, you have no instruction how to connect the second extra tank ( for fuel but no tube in or for coolant)

CISON OHV V8 is fantastic
I have built several model engines and they all were difficult to get running involving many hours of experimentation and occasionally replacing a burned out starter motor. The CISON V8 fired up on my first attempt! I even used only a 7.4 volt battery to reduce the strain on the starter motor and this was perfectly adequate. I built the (surprise) circuit board into the alternator and it works perfectly. I have yet to install the cooling system but the double gear pump and large radiator should actually work, in contrast to other engines where the water starts to boil after a few minutes unless a large external water reservoir and an auxiliary water pump are added. Finally, after adding the ignition wires, the oversize distributor is no longer so obvious and it is the best looking engine ever. I only wish it would come in Ford blue since it looks much closer to a Ford V8 than a Chevrolet V8.

Let down by poor instructions
The actual model is very impressive but the instructions leave a lot to be desired. In general it was very well made but one piston ring needed a little "fettling" to get it to fit in the bore when fitted to the piston. The information available as to what is supplied, both in the main kit and for the accessories, is very poor and not what I would expect for something of this quality and value. I have not yet tried to start it, largely due to the number of extras which are needed to actually make it run, but I see no reason why it shouldn't work as advertised.
