When we launched the TECHING World's 1st Car Model Kit, our goal was never simply to create another display model.
We wanted to create a miniature automobile that actually works — a model that allows builders to assemble a real mechanical transmission system, understand how mechanical power moves through a vehicle, and experience the satisfaction of watching hundreds of precision metal parts come together to create a functioning automobile.
Since its launch, builders around the world have shared their experiences, questions, and suggestions with us.
We listened carefully.
Every piece of feedback helped us identify opportunities to make the building process smoother, the mechanical system more reliable, and the driving experience more enjoyable.
After extensive testing and engineering adjustments, we have now upgraded several key components of the TECHING Full Metal Automobile Model Kit.
And the biggest improvement is inside the clutch and power transmission system.
The Biggest Upgrade: A Redesigned Clutch System
A functional mechanical model depends on the coordination of many small components.
The clutch is especially important because it controls the connection between the power source and the transmission system. During testing, we found that the original clutch mechanism could be further optimized to provide smoother engagement and disengagement.
So instead of making a simple adjustment, we redesigned the clutch structure.

The upgraded clutch and transmission system now includes additional components designed to improve mechanical coordination and power transfer:

The clutch system wasn't the only area we improved.
We also reviewed several other details based on feedback from builders during assembly and operation.
1. Improved Flywheel Rotation Stability
Some builders noticed that the flywheel could show noticeable wobbling during operation.
We reviewed the assembly tolerances and adjusted the flywheel clearance specifications.
The optimized structure provides improved rotational stability and reduces unwanted movement during operation.
This allows the power system to run more smoothly and gives the moving flywheel a more refined mechanical appearance.
2. Safer Assembly for Parts #109 and #60
Precision assembly requires correct alignment, especially when small gears and set screws are involved.
Some builders found that the correct alignment between Part #60 and Part #109 was not immediately obvious.
Part #60 has a flat surface on the shaft, and Part #109 — the small bevel gear — must be positioned correctly against this flat surface before tightening the set screw.
If the alignment is incorrect:
The set screw may protrude outward.
During operation, it may come into contact with Part #32.
Excessive tightening may damage the screw thread and potentially make Part #109 unusable.
We upgraded Part #109 (Small Bevel Gear) to a copper version.
The new material provides a more forgiving interface during assembly and helps reduce the risk of thread damage.
This makes the assembly process more user-friendly, particularly for builders who may be experiencing a precision mechanical model kit for the first time.
3. Improved Tool Kit
Some builders also told us that the original tool selection could be improved.
Based on this feedback, the current package now includes the basic tools required for assembly.
For experienced builders who prefer professional-grade equipment, we are also planning an optional advanced tool kit in the future. This gives builders more flexibility.
4. New Lubrication Guidance
Proper lubrication is an important part of maintaining a smooth-running mechanical model. Based on questions from builders, we have also clarified where lubrication should be applied.
We recommend applying suitable lubricant to:
Moving mechanical components
Gear contact surfaces
Rotating shafts
Areas where metal components make direct contact
Proper lubrication can help reduce friction, improve movement, and maintain the mechanical performance of the model over time.
5. Exterior Power Switch: Designed for Practical Use
Some builders asked why the battery power switch is positioned on the exterior of the vehicle instead of being hidden inside the body.
The external switch allows you to:
Start the model easily after assembly
Turn the power on and off without removing the body
Operate the vehicle more conveniently during everyday use
While we always aim for mechanical realism, we also believe that practical usability matters.
The exterior switch is therefore a deliberate balance between classic automobile aesthetics and functional operation.
6. Convenient Battery Charging
We also received questions about battery replacement after the model has been fully assembled.
The model is designed around a convenient USB charging system, so the battery does not need to be removed for regular charging.
This approach makes daily use easier while reducing unnecessary handling of internal connectors and components.

A small tolerance issue can affect movement.
A small alignment error can affect a gear.
