Fun Kit

I really enjoyed building this kit and I love watching the low temp stirling engine work over a cup of water

Interesting

On the surface, this looks like very simple engine. But when you look closely, you will see a lot of thought and engineering has gone into it. The first thing I noticed was how tiny the bearing are. These bearings are the smallest I've ever seem. Yet, they are well made and fit perfectly where they're suppose to. I put it together easily. After I got it together and tried it on a mug of hot water, I thought, "OK". But you must keep this in mind. Like many machines, this too needs to be broken-in. Now that it is broken-in, it starts very easy and runs a long time. How long? I don't know. I put it on an insulated mug, and after 2-1/2 hours, I had to leave. It was still running. This thing is very very quiet. I can see no wobble in the flywheel. This is very well made.

Review Update

Enginediy finally sent a new glass cylinder and it is now installed. After a few attempts at getting proper water temperature, the engine ran for an hour. Thanks to customer service for helping to get this resolved.

Fascinating Toy

Purchased out of interest during the 2020 lockdown. Pretty straightforward to put together - I'm not generally good at things like this, but after paying close attention to the instructions I was able to do it without difficulty.
The parts all fit together very nicely and the engine works smoothly. Will be trying some other models shortly...

Cool Working Toy!

Very Interesting, very well made, very easy to assemble kit. I let it sit on top of my coffee cup and watch it work, fascinating!
