This little engine is a very nice show piece that is a great representation of a true Hit & Miss engine. The use of castings gives a true feel of the real engine. The quality is very nice, packaging was well protected. I plan to make a nice weighted wood stand to conceal the battery case. I am very pleased with the purchase and will be back for more.

Really careful construction with brass sleeve bearings and all moving parts well-fitting, great period looks with castings and paint, solid, mechanical ignition. Looks great beside previous Chinese hit and miss engines - in the same scale. Benefits from wear-in. Best packaging I've ever seen...Check out my unboxing vid at Thomas PCGuru Engines channel on youtube, and I'll post updates as I tweak it :) 10/10

Great display model and fascinating toy
The engine arrived quite promptly and was very well protected in its packaging.
It looks great with the red cast parts and stainless steel flywheels.
It started quite easily but getting the mixture adjustment exactly right has been a bit tricky.
Like other owners I have found that unlike full size hit and miss engines, it "hits" several times rather than just once or twice before "missing". I suspect that since the small scale model doesn't have the weight of full size flywheels, that no amount of tuning will completely eliminate that difference.
While I am happy with the way it runs out of the box, I look forward to fine tuning some of the things that other owners have worked on. Since I don't have access to the equipment that would allow me to build an engine from scratch, this is the next best thing. It works, but I think I can improve it slightly.
