This kit is a great starting point. I wanted to modify it a bit, so I stripped off the anodizing and polished and painted most of the parts.
Thanks to the advise here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MV-eGdwjdiI - I was able to glue the gear train together to remove the slipping.
I added a bit of plastic liner in between some of the loose pivot points to remove more slop and replaced the plastic fill tube with some aluminum tubing.
I made a custom wooden base as well.

Very high quality model. My first I ever built from enginediy. I was impressed with the boxing and the instructions were first notch. The model works well and I get many compliments on it. I highly recommend this model if you love all kinds of machines like I do.

Good Build
Generally well made and a good building experience and nice finished product. I personally would have probably liked the unit without the led lamp. The lamp is mostly plastic and does not really add much to the final aesthetic. My led also did not work. Again, small enough of an issue that I still think 5 stars.

Great kit and it functions as it should. Precision parts and excellent packaging. I initially ordered the DM419 unit and was sent DM601 with light because 419 was no longer available. That was fine with me. The kit impressed a friend of mine who works with the petroleum industry. I like that it has a rechargeable battery. If I wasn’t retired, I would have it on my desk at work and turn it on when visitors dropped in. One issue is that the kit was short one 058 screw. Hopefully, a replacement will be sent to me soon.

This kit was as nice as you will ever find, very well showcased and labeled to identify each and every part. A very nice instruction manual on building, and each part identification. I really enjoyed building this replica a lot and was a snap to assemble. I was so happy with this that I will be ordering their 5 cylinder radial engine soon. I used to fly planes and worked in the oilfield for 33 years and these kinda represent that milestone. Don't concern yourself with the 219 parts it was fun.....
