When I ordered the mini sterling engine kit I had no idea how awesome it would be! I have already burned through an entire bottle of alcohol (1 pint) because I can’t stop messing with it. It’s very well built and I have already ordered a second for my brother in law.
The engine itself is top quality, some spares are also provided. There are also a few plastic bits (a propeller, a few short axels, etc.) thrown in, which are essentially unusable. There is a link with a videotutorial on some Chinese webservice which is densely packed with commercials in Chinese, where some guy is showing how to connect them together. This is total bs, since his assortment of parts doesn't match the assortment which comes in the bundle; further, even with his parts he's unable to construct anything which would be of any use. I felt I had to lower the overall mark by one star for this. Otherwise, once again, the engine is good and works just fine.
The parcel took a month to arrive and the wait was worth it. The packaging was proper with adequate padding of foam and the components secured using zip-ties. The box also comes with spare glass bulbs, which comes in handy.
The engine itself works like a charm. It has produced no faults whatsoever during usage. Set-up is as easy as lighting a candle. Care must be taken not to let the bulb overheat as the rapid cooling in room temperature will crack the glass bulb. Overall, it is a fantastic piece of engineering and craftsmanship, worth the money.
My son loves his Stirling Engine. It took quite a bit longer to arrive than anticipated, but arrived in perfect condition. It works as described and is quality made. We are very happy with the purchase.
